CNN Black in America – Black Women & Family

Tune in on Wednesday, July 23 on CNN to see a special report on Black Women and Family in the United States. This is the first of it’s kind to discuss all types of issues ranging from HIV/AIDS to education. Health Fact: In 2005, 66% of new HIV/AIDS cases were Black women (CDC, 2007). As this country changes daily, it is essential that we are informed on what is going on in our communities. Even if you are not a Black woman, I urge you to watch this series as well. If you work in public health, social work, education, medicine, or any similar field and serve Black women, I urge you to watch this series. To serve them well, you need to be well informed on the issues impacting them.
